New Soccer Complex
New field will help Floyd County embrace soccer
Twenty years from now, Scott Klink would like to be driving down Hwy. 111 and see youth soccer being played in a facility built just for the sport. That has been his dream for the past decade. His dream is slowly becoming a reality. Klink is president of Southern Indiana United, which incorporates both competitive and recreational soccer leagues in Floyd County, and has been looking forward to the day when youth soccer has a permanent home.

SIU donated $3500 to the NA-FC Parks foundation to help kick off the development of the Cannon Acres Soccer Complex. Now it's your turn to help donate for the cause. The foundation needs your help to complete the dream. We need the community pitch in and help with the capital campaign fund to build the remaining fields and facilities at Cannon Acres. If you would like to help, please contact Jim Kotowski.

SIU Opens New Soccer Complex At Cannon Acres
SIU children recently played at the new Cannon Acres complex in the MLS camp. There will be two fields set up for this fall. The complex is not done yet, but we are able to start enjoying the new facility. Parents and players alike could not get over how nice it was to play at Cannon Acres. The U11-U18 teams will play games there this Fall.

The development of the new complex has only just begun. Two soccer fields will be set up for this fall. The plans are to build a place where all of the SIU teams can play together in one place. The comlpex would include the following:
